Aerobat Folding Instructions
Step 1
Placing the paper as shown, make a fold extending from the top left corner, by aligning the top edge with the left vertical edge. Crease well.
Unfold.
Repeat the same fold with the opposite top corner.
Crease, and unfold.
Turn the paper over.
Step 2
Make a central crease vertically as shown by aligning the right side of the paper to the left.
Unfold.
Step 3
Make a horizontal crease as shown, so that this crease passes through the intersection of all the creases already made. Keep the central crease carefully aligned.
Unfold.
Turn the paper over again.
Step 4
Now make an accordion fold as follows: Push in with your finger on the point where all the lines intersect. This should make the center bulge away from you. Grasp point A on each side of the paper and draw each side downward and toward the center of the paper until they touch the central crease. Hold them there. Now bring down the top corners labeled B so that they rest against point C on each side. When you have completed the fold successfully, recrease all edges.
Step 5
Fold the tip down so it rests against the horizontal paper edge in the exact center, as shown. Note that this fold creates a triangle from the top edge, and that little pockets are formed in the sides of the triangle. Open these pockets gently with your finger.
Step 6
On each side you should have two wings: a small, pointed upper wing resting on a larger lower wing. On each side, fold the pointed upper wing inward so that the point just touches the tip of the triangle formed in step 5, labeled A.
Step 7
Now fold the small wing upward diagonally on each side as shown. Partially unfold. Tuck tip C on each side into the little pocket you formed in Step 5, labeled AB here.
Step 8
Shows the result of Step 8. Turn the plane over.
Fold in half along the central crease.
Step 9
Fold down each wing, so that point A exactly matches point B on each side. Be certain to fold both wings exactly the same.
Step 10
Show the resulting plane, from above. Fold up each wing end approximately 3/4 inch from the edge, as shown. Each should be approximately the same as the other.
